In the midst of Lock down and with some time on my hands, I decided to change my website.
Not much in the way of content has changed but the layout tweaked and words rewritten, I’m much happier with the visual layout of the site.
While looking through my images it occurred to me that some of the projects have come to a natural conclusions. The girls are growing older and aren’t around as much as they used to be for me to photograph them.
I’ve always had a small project running, or photographing for clients. But what do I photograph now?
Do I look at extended family? Try more conceptual work? Both are possibilities.
I’m in between projects, it’s a really strange state, and one I’ve never really been in before. I recently read a book called ‘Photo Work: Forty Photographers on Process and Practice’ Edited by Sara Wolf, to learn how other photographers decide what to work on next for the projects, it’s an interesting read and a comfort to know that space and time is needed to give clarity and confidence in your next project, so this is what I’ve decided to do. I have some reading to do over the summer months, I’ll photograph a few things and trust the new project will appear, just like the ‘Elusive Creative Genius’ that Elizabeth Gilbert talks about in her TED talk.
Fingers crossed anyway…….
